My HP Photosmart C7280 prints so slow that I can watercolor the document faster.

For a while it printed nicely, but the past 3 weeks it's snail time. Anyone have any suggestions as to why or what I can do to get the print speed back up?

Thanks.

Have the quality settings been changed (if it's printing at a higher quality it will be much slower)

If thats OK have you tried reinstalling the driver?

What a novel idea! If you are only printing things that you can produce yourself, why not?

I've tried the reinstall of software drivers, no go. I'll try again however.

As to print only those things I can produce myself, that's my wife's job. She's the artist in the family. I have to have help, thus the darn printer problems!

Nice comment however!

Are you using the PCL or the PS driver?
Are the files PDF?
USB or network?

Here are the steps to resolve the slow printing issue in Photosmart C7200 if the printer is connected to computer with the USB cable.

If the operating system is XP:

Please click on Start>>Controlpanel>>Printers and faxes folder

If it is vista:

Please click on Windows>>Controlpanel>>Hardware and sounds or printers folder

Please right click on the printer icon and select properties then please click on advanced tab and then select the option print directly to printer option and then click on.

Then try printing and check for the result.

If the issue persists we need to increase the virtual memory of the computer.
