We have a networked HP 9000, workstations are W2K Pro. with HP9K drivers installed.

For some reason, that I can't seem to figure out, when you attempt to print to tray 1 or 2 from MS Word it prints from tray 3 instead of 2. I looked at the print path settings and selected ALL trays. Both tray 2 & 3 are configured identically.

Help?

do you have an envelope feeder installed? I do, and that counts as tray one, while tray one counts as tray two, etc.

I downloaded updated drivers from the internet and was able to configure the properties of the printer to include the feeder. now the trays are correct.

hope this helps,
Corie

I agree with Tahoe's assessment. I also have one additional item to point out. In any printer, the paper size mechanism in the tray might be slightly off. This will cause the printer to show the tray to be a custom size and it will then go to the next available tray that uses the size of paper that you're trying to print to.

Regards,
Mike
