The hp 8550 wont feed cardstock through the top feeder. It prints just fine until it has to come out of the machine and then it jams. the paper is not destroyed and fully usable but it is irritating having to take the machine apart to get the copy. It did not used to have this problem. any help with this would be great. fyi it works fine with all other typs of paper.

What is the weight of the paper? Here are the paper specifications for that printer.

Tray 1 can be 16 to 58 lbs (60 to 216 g/m2)
Tray 2 & 3 can be 16 to 28 lbs (60 to 105 g/m2)

As for it working previously, I can't say why it's not now, but if your paper is heavier than these specifications, HP's official stance is that the printer is fine (since regular paper feeds fine) and you are using unsupported paper.

if u use heavy paper and it is jamming repeatedly in the top output bin, try change to to left output bin..

might fix the problem..
