HP 750 will only print test pgs

Have reinstalled printer, checked driver after it wouldn't print (ie delayed print failures etc). It happened after a power outage from a car wreck altho I do have all on surge suppressors...then I got it to print a test pg from the printer and a test page from the XP computer but it won't scan nor copy nor print from any other source (ie. word, wordpad, notepad, photos etc) even followed directions from the hp site and still no go. have a small hp5550 limping for backup prints but my scanning work is piling up. would hate to have to buy another PSC; already gave away the psc500 when it wouldn't work with XP upgrade. Anyone having a clue as to where else I can turn it would be greatly appreciated. TIA

The test page is printed from windows so we have good connection. What happens when you print from, say word?

thx for replying dkdude for some reason the site wouldn't let me log in to reply on 11/5 and since I posted at the time nothing would print from word, wordpad, notepad etc but was able to finally get a test page from the hp750 and from the computer which uses XP. since then it has had it's spells where it either prints about 2" of type then stops with a jam error yet the paper isn't jammed it comes out neat or when I found a way to do an alignment it printed out an entire page but stopped just shy of the last 1/4" of page spitting out and gave me a cartridge jam error so I checked the cartridges both and retried and now it won't do anything b/c it keeps saying either cartridge jam or chk black cartridge blk cartridge incorrect yet it is the correct ink cartridge but I did notice when I reinstalled it I don't have it listed in my apps list at the start menu b/c there should be a toolbox etc extra goodies that list with it. I think maybe it didn't completely uninstall b/c the paper said to uninstall from the apps list drop down menu for hp rather then add/remove which is what I may have did first before checking the appz list and other places that leave behind shortcuts and such. but I checked the reg and there is nothing to find for HP 750 or HP all-in-one there. If I had the blow $ staples for the next 2wks is selling a combo flatbed/sheetfed PSCF (HP5510) for $200...just a wish. sorry for the long post but was trying to cover all angles of what has happened to try to fix things. thx loads.
