All the lights on my Deskjet 722C are blinking and it won't print anything. I've tried disconnecting the power source and plugging it back in as recommended on the HP support site. It doesn't work. It says to call HP customer support, but I'm off of warranty and don't want to pay all of those charges. Does anyone have any idea why this would happen? The ink is not new, but used very rarely and I am using Windows 2000. It doesn't look like there is anything wrong with the printer. There also was no real event that started it. I've also tried taking the ink out and putting it back in to no avail.
Help!

Any loud noises or grinding coming from the printer? All lights blinking usually means some kind of mechanical failure/jam.

No....there aren't any loud noises or grinding at all. The printer sounds and looks perfectly fine.

Sometimes if I disconnect it and reconnect the power supply, first the power button is solid and ink button blinks (I think) before it starts blinking. Also the printer makes sounds as if it is setting up, and the ink moves. Usually (as in even if I unplug it), though all that happens is that all of the buttons blink. If I try to turn it off by holding the power button, the start blinking again soon afterwards. So it's not possible to turn it off without disconnecting.

SunshineD i guess u have the same problem as my 1220c
Does your paper feed action?
where do you live? maybe we can swop cartdriges?
I have heard that any obstruction on the rail causes this, so clean with isopropyl alcohol, (specs cleaner)and rub very lightly with MRsheene silicon polish
also the thin sensor strip with the barcode on it, be very careful, this detects where the carriage is

I had the same problem with my HP printer =(
I bought a new one so as to avoid the hassle of sending it in for repairs and going without a printer. I now have a HP 940C. I use my printer to print pictures, and i find that the 940 is a much poorer quality. You can see the lines thru the picture for every time the ink lifted up to feed more paper thru =(

hi Rosalia, the lines I had on mine were caused by a very small hairy? something caught under the bracket where the
ink cart goes in this spread the ink when the paper is moving
