HP 5L printing problem 3

An HP 5L laser printer that glitches in Excel and sometimes Word. The printer spews out garbage characters and multiple pages. Could this be a port problem? The printer has 1 meg memory.
HP's site does not give much in the way of solutions.
Are there known issues with this printer?

the multi pages is a know problem the part is $50 to fix it from hp, and the mess in excel have you tryed updating the driver.

I have a 5l with a similiar proble, it feeds multiple pages at a time. I have been unable to find a solution on the HP site. Does anyone have any info on the parts that are required and where to obtain them?

yah you need two part the is called the serperation pad and the second is the pick up roller part numbers are ry7-5077-000cn for seperation pad and rg5-3486-040cn pickup roller So long and thanks for all the fish.

I had the multi-page sucking problem with my 5L.. I replaced the separation pads and pickup roller as recommended. Now it only pulls in one sheet, but it only pulls it in a few inches. It stops about an inch from the wide black roller. I think I put everything back correctly, after cleaning everything real good. Any ideas?

there a platic sepeation plate in there and if that goes in worng you would get that i might take it part again a just duoble check every thing So long and thanks for all the fish.
