HP 4200tn Tray default settings changing

In a Novell 5.0 environment we have a 4200tn with an additional 500 sheet tray setup for a workgroup. Tray 2 is set to Plain Paper, Tray 3 is set for Letterhead. The problem we are experiencing is that the defaults for these two trays swap intermittently. Tray 2 becomes Letterhead and Tray 3 is Plain.
Has anyone heard of such a thing? Any recommendations are appreciated...Pete

is this the printer that is changing the defaults or is this the computer that thinks it has swapped?

The printer is changing settings. I have to manually reconfigure the settings from the front panel.

I'd either get a support tech on site or jump on the phone with HP. Sounds like a dying formatter board to me. How long have you guys had the printer around? Do you know if this happens after the printer loses power? How long does it last once you manually setup the printer again?
