If it can printout from the menu directly at printer, there must be an error in either the connection to the printer or a software error. If the printer is connected to a network with a JetDirect card or box, try and see if connection there is OK. Next step is to check up on driver by either trying to make a testpage from there or to re-install driver. You might wanna check printing from applications different from those you usually use also.
Also try a half cycle test, print a configuration page with paper in tray 1, when page has fed 3/4 of the way into printer open the top cover, remove the toner cartridge and slide the shutter back so you can see the drum, you should see a reverse image of the test page on the drum, if it's not there, then either the cartridge is bad, or a voltage is not getting to the cartridge, (that could be a bad connection or a power supply problem.
