I have a 4000N running on my network and can't get it to default to the bottom tray. It always wants to print to tray 1. Have the issue with NT, 2000 and XP. Have tried all drivers available and even deactivated tray 1. The settings at the printer, limited as they are, tell me it should be defaulting to tray 2.

Cheers

What is the tray 1 setting ? Tray 1 = cassette should fix problem.

No luck

Have changed all paper related settings and even reset to factory defaults.

Can these have firmware updates applied?

Andrew

You don't want tray 1 set for Cassette. Setting it that way will make it want to pull from there. You want it set to "First" If that doesn't work, remove the jetdirect card, and perform a cold reset. Turn off printer and hold down the Go button. Turn printer on with button held. When it reads Cold Reset, you can release the button.
