My 2000C keeps coming up with an empty black ink cartridge message although I have replaced it twice with a new cartridge and have also changed the print head. It had worked for about 10 pages of output. Any ideas on what the problem might be.
Its probably the ink pump in the Ink Supply Station that are broken. You can check this out by pushing them down and see if they come up again. They are located under the Ink cartridges. White in colour.
With the HP2000c printer there are 4 springs located unther the ink tanks. They provide the pressure to press the white knobs unther the ink cartridges up (these are to measure the amount of ink left in the tank).
The springs are attached to some realy weak plastic pins witch tend to break off, releasing the spring. The white knob doesn't come up any more and the printer thinks the cartridge is empty.
It is possible to repair it yourselve by making a hole in the original setting of the spring and then reattach it.
A better way is to make a "metal hook", attache this to the chassis and then reattach the spring (the way I repaired it).
Be aware that HP likes to use a "click-fit system" with a lot of turning norches in and out of settings.
