If someone bother to in detail describe for me how to set up this, I`d appreciate it. A description of my network. Quite small actually,. 1 d-link linksys DI-604 router, PC with XP SP2. I have installed Norton Internet Security as well.

a vpn from home to where? or from where to home? you want to vpn into your xp machine?

I wish to use my homecomputer as a host. I want to be able to log on to my homecomputer from work.

What I want is to know how to configure the host to allow incomming conections. And how to configure the firewalls. Etc.

XP pro/home does not contain a VPN server. The only ras capabilities are modem/isdn dial-in.

Best thing to do is get a modem/router with built in VPN server solution. Then you can connect to your host through RDP.
