I have a printer already on my computer and I need to add a second printer for dot matrix printing (POs Bills) I know I need a switch box but I want to be able to share the dot matrix with about three others on another floor and I don't want to have to keep flicking the switch. Can I get an autoswitching box and share the printer through the network and let them print downstairs without any problems? Thanks for any tips.
Using a switch box on a network for sharing
printers is not the way to go. Forget to
switch it once and you may end up with piles
of garbled pages on the floor. (Users on
you network will never know how the switch
is set.)
Purchase a Parallel Printer Card. (They are
cheap.) Install it as a second port as LPT2,
then SHARE the printers. Now, everyone can
access any printer when they want to (as long
as your computer remains powered ON.

Thanks I did not even think of that... Sounds good to me
Thanks Again!
