We are currently using Groupwise and we have several users that have very large mail databases. Does anyone have experience with users that save nearly all their outgoing mail as well as most of their incoming mail. GroupWise has given us quite a few errors. Is Lotus able to properly maintain & rebuild such large databases?

How well does Lotus handle large mail databases?

I look after a Notes / Domino system and we have a database a few Gb in size that works quite well, replicating from Newcastle UK tor Dortmund without any errors or conflicts.
Naturally for users accessing through passthru via the web it would be very slow, but other than that it seems trouble free.
Still, I think it's better just to get users to backup their mail locally and delete unwanted messages.
