This is for a metal shop program. Form QP has 3 pages, 3 main tables, QuoteMst, QuoteItem & QuoteDtl. During a Quote if a change is made to one of the 3 table fields (grade of metal, size, add a hole or cut)diff totals in the QuoteItem need updated (beg Labor, weight removed, outside labor). 1 to 5 different groups of totals could be updated depending on the field changed. Some fields then need recalculated because they are based on % of finished weight or labor charge to get final $ for quote. There are about 20 diff reg fields & 25 diff total fields within 5 groupings that can be involved because of one change. I scan the QuoteDtl (holds weight info, Lngth, Wdth, holes, cuts)to recalc weight and price changes/hole,cut,etc. Again there are fields in all 3 tables that could change the various totals. I would say that my Paradox skills are in the middle, not novice, but far from an expert. I currently have push buttons to hold the total code, but the employees can't remember to push the button. I have to have the totals update immediately upon any change. After the form updates they could put in an adjustment to change the totals again until they see what they like.
