hello everyone,

System is a CS1000,how would i go about finding the DID (direct inward dialing) number associated with a particular extension number lets just say 5577 is the extension number. That calls an OPX line at a remote site. The DID number provided by the service provider is 961-4921 which terminates on a MICS at the remote site on port 2 of the LSDS card.

How do i prt or chg the extension number associated with the DID number.

Do you have a IDC table ???

LD 49

req prt
type idc
cust 0
dcno ( enter carriage return )

try that

I did a prt on the idc table for all routes and they were all set to NO.
I will post the prt.

Thanks

If you are calling to another site by dialing 5577 (for example) outbound calls typically do not rely on the DID number. If you call 5577 from your desk phone there is likely a translation in the PBX that turns 5577 into 961-4921. This could be done using several different methods of varying complexity, the first thing I would do is to print DNB of 5577 in LD 11 to see if you can see anything that would point to something obvious, like an ACD night call forwarded to this number. Could also be a CDP in LD 87 etc. which deletes 4 digits and inserts the correct dial string.
The IDC tables are only for calls inbound to your PBX, so, if I am reading this right, does not come in to play here.

how does DID work when you are simply recieving the last 4 digits from the provider ?
No idc table, no conversion is done.

I have an extension 5556, i can dial 722 from my cell phone and the extension will ring directly.

I made a new extension 5510 but if i dial 722 and the extension number doesnt ring and the call doesnt go through.

What programming would i have to do to have extension 5510 ring when dialed form an external caller.

if i trace the extension that works i see the call terminating on the T1 and ringing at the extension.

You order specific ranges of DID numbers from the phone company. When one of those numbers is dialed, it is directed to your DID trunk group. The trunk is sized, the PBX responds, then the phone company dials the four digits and your phone rings. It is almost like the phone company is transferring the call through your PBX.

What happens when you dial 4921?
What do you get when you print 4921?
Is this coming in on regular PRI/T-1/E1 circuits?
Is it coming in on an analog line? If this option, check ATDN settings, to see if it is set to auto terminate to another number.
If it comes in on a regular circuit, check LD 87 to see if it is routed directly out as a CDP/DSC etc.

thanks for the help guys, got a copy of the did bolck from the telephone company.
