I have an Access 2000 database that will link to an ODBC table. I would like to verify that the link to the ODBC table will not create an error before the front-end database is opened. For instance, if the ODBC database is down for some reason, I would like to be able to detect this when the front-end database is opened, and remove the link to the ODBC table.

Does anyone know how to accomplish this?

Thanks.

When testing links to another Access database I simply loop through each table and attempt to open it as a recordset.

This might take a while on large tables accessed via ODBC though....

Thanks Ed! This will work well for me because I have only a handful of tables to test.
