Is it possible to use an off-the-shelf analog cordless phone with a CICS? I really want to avoid buying a T7406E $$$

If so. Is there a specific module I need to install? Can I assign an extension to it?

I'm an IT guy that inherited telephony recently.

Thank you so much for putting up with us *newbies*. As soon as I gain experience I'll post to assist others.

Port 117 in an ATA, it converts the digital signal to analog if you connect it to that port it will work but you are limited with no display you also have to use the flash button to access features, the only thing is your doing it blind and you hope that it works.

Thanks for your response cook. What is an ATA? A separate module or am I in trouble if I don't know what that is?

How do I configure port 117?

the ata is built into port 117. You'll need to put all your lines in a pool and give the cordless access to that pool group.

ATA is Analog Terminal Adaptor, and the CICS has an internal one built in, pretty nifty. Just x-connect the cordless jack to port 117. Call to a digital display telephone to see the DN #.
