Hello everyone,

A freind of mine offered me to host my asp.net application witch use an sql server 2003 databse. My friend asked me to upload the application and database via ftp server to his server and provided me the Id and PWD (for ftp logging). But I don't understand how it works.

If anyone here could provide me any information about that or give me some references or articles to check out, I'll appreciate very much.

Thanks in advance.

What FTP software are you using? Do a Google search on that software title.

thanks a lot rjoubert for your response,

I'm using LeechFTP and actually the problem isn't how to use LeechFTP but how uplaod a database. I don't know if I should I upload the .BAK file or other and how it works in hosting server.
I thought uplaod the .BAK file and my freind will do a Restore on it but he left and I should put on line the application tomorrow. So, if you get any solution or suggestion it will help.

Actually, that sounds like the only way to go. Your friend would need to take the .BAK file and restore it onto his SQL Server. You would need to gain access to his SQL Server to mount the database. There's no way for you to do that over FTP.

That's what I thought...

Thanks for your help rjoubert.
