hi,I need your help!

my situation: I updated my project with actual work figures. the baseline work of one task was 15 hours. by mistake i added 15 days. my trackin gantt of course reacted this and channged the duration etc.

then i updated the actual work - now with correct figures: 15 hours - BUT the tracking gantt remained as it was after the wrong update (15days).

what if i notices my mistake, so that i cannot get back with the undo's. is there any way to 'recalculate' the plan?

So, is the task complete? check the spread of the 15 hours of work (check the Task Usage view). Set the remaining duration to zero and that should remove the remaining duration.

Go to the Task Usage view and double check the Actual Work spread. Adjust as necessary and then set the remaining duration to the correct amount.

ok, so the adjustement must be done manually...thank you for this tip. by the way: i'm using the earned value method. surely you know: why is the spi or cpi value different when i'm on the tracking gantt view of when i'm on the 'normal' gantt view?!?

it should not be. are you looking at the Earned Value Cost Indicators table in both views?

yes, you're rught: i made a mistake, had two cpi's instead of cpi and spi.

is it so that after setting the baseline to a project i should only work wtht the tracking gantt view?

You can work with any view that you need. I personally use the Tracking table when supplying progress on a task.
