How to unprotect a word document 1

I have got one email in outlook which has an attachment for a word document. I am trying to make changes to the document but the fields are grayed out, so I cannot make changes. When I go to tools and unprotect it asks me for a password but I do not know the password. I asked the person who has sent this email to me and he said he didnot protect this with any password. Could someone tell me please how can I make changes in that document.

Create a new Word document. Hit Insert-File and choose your protected file.

This unprotects the file and puts it into a new document.
