It has been a long week and my brain is a bit fuddled.

Some one has tried to be helpful and set up a w2k server for me to run terminal services. Unfortunately they installed it with the DNS service. This is no good as I already have a DNS server on my network.

Any quick way to get rid of this unwanted service? I have tried deleting it from the DNS mmc but it comes back again.

Any help gratefully appreciated.

Andy.

Add/Remove Programs - Add/Remove Windows Components
Go to Networking Services and uncheck DNS.

Thanks very much. It's Friday afternoon, hot, and I've got an Arcserve 2000 backup program playing silly buggers!

I'm sure I would have found the answer on Monday when my brain clears!

Tkx again..

you need to go to add/remove programs, uninstall DNS from the networking tab, and then go to \\winnt\system32\dns and delete everything inside besides the samples.
