How to uninstall card reader??

How do I uninstall a CF card reader? Everytime I use "uninstall" from the device manager it comes back upon reboot.

If the hardware is still there, you need to disable it in the device manager or bios, depending where it is integrated.

No, my son remove the reader. I've tried to disable it in and/or uninstall it from the device manager. It is/was a USB connected drive. The driver is still loading.

Just a quick question. Why uninstall it? You are not going to use it again?
Also, since it is USB, why did you need drivers anyway?
What brand and type is it?

Good questions, but I assume that being listed in the device manager means that resources are being consumed and the potential for conflicts is more likely. There is a driver listed with the drive listing. I know XP is suppose to make all that go away but that's not always true. I strive to make my system as clean as possible. It prevents problems later. Any other ideas?
