Can anyone share any information on how you can track andy unknown dnis to hit the avaya? For example, changes have been made to our Route IT plans, which will now send any defaulted call to a particular call center. At this time, not all VDN are built in this call center, so we do not know if we are hitting the switch with a VDN it does not recognize until a customer complains about getting an announcement. Is there any way to track this calls coming in on an unknown or unassigned VDN?
Thank you!

Do you know which trunk group they may come in on? You could do a list trace tac xxx, if you know the trunk group then you can get the tac code from the 1st page of the trunk form. That would trap some data for you.

Sounds like you may have a large network with lots of VDN's for toll free numbers. As well, I've deduced that your unknown digits are routed to an announcement, perhaps? You may want to look into changing that and training the attendant to recognize unknown digit handled calls and report/respond accordingly.

Does anyone know if you can do something with null digits/undefined digits in the "incoming call handling" form?

Calls that hit your default term in RouteIt will be sent to the toll free number associated with that termination. All calls will "piggyback" on that term TFN regardless of what original TFN was dialed.

Hope that helps.

Yes, we are sending these unidentified calls to an announcement. During our conversion to Avaya we were informed that we can not assign these calls to a VDN but only to an announcement. We have found no way to be able to count how many times an announcement is being played to gives us an idea of frequency.

In speaking with an associate, this person suggested playing an announcement that plays the dtmf tones for xfer connect and send it to a unique TFN and VDN and monitor that way. We will test that route, but also look into some of these suggestions as well.
Thank you for the feedback. Any other information or ideas would be great.
