How to test wan ethernet on Nortel Contivity 1500 using ping

Hello

I need to test the WAN ethernet port on Nortel Contivity 1500 just with a ping test but the Contivity does not receive the response of the remote host located on the same local network.

The Contivity has not configuration (default factory configuration).

With the LAN ethernet port the test work fine. I suppose that the problem is some default configuration on WAN port that block the ping response.

I try with differents Contivity with the same result.

The link leds on RJ45 detects the connection.

What I need to do for permit ping on WAN ethernet port?.

Hi,

check the system settings in the webbrowser. There you should be able to allow WAN ICMP reply, and also webmanagent on WAN interface, telnet/ssh/ftp acces.. etc.
