Good day,

I recently replaced my batteries for our backup CS1K power and need to test it by removing building power from the rectifier. Is there any way to monitor how quickly the batteries are draining and/or most importantly know when to restore power BEFORE the system starts dying on it's own? Hard power down caused us enough problems when we found out the batteries are no longer good, I'd rather do this as gracefully as possible so as not to ruffle the CS1Ks feathers and keep service to our 24/7 phones.

Thanks!

Unless you sit down and figure the amp draw at capacity there is now way to tell and a lot of variables. How many batteries you have, are they 2,6 or 12 volt, do you have more than 1 string, etc, etc. No way to really know. You could watch the voltage drop on the front of the rectifier and when it gets to 49 VDC I would throw the AC back on. These things typically float around 52vdc to 54 vdc

Alright, thanks for the info, better than the knowledge I had!

For the record we have 2 strings of 4 12V batteries and 5 PBX shelves (+ 2 powered off). Current voltage sits at -52.2.
