I am trying to figure out what is the best way to test a new ISP connection. I have 3845 with an ATM ds3 that I am going to add a new 6M pvc for this new circuit. I don't want all the internet traffic to make it's way through this pipe by learning the route via eigrp. I would like to test the link with 1 or 2 hosts. This new link will replace the current ISP in a couple of weeks.

I would ping the sites I would like to test the connection to (to get the ip addresses) and just make some static routes to those ip addresses using the new ISP's gateway..

But that would only be suitable for some short tests of cource...

static routes wouldn't work. because he wants certain hosts to use isp1 and certain hosts to use isp2.
that is why you need policy based routing where you can create access lists and if they match you can set the next hop address.
