Here is how my report currently looks like:

Group Header: Part # : ZZZ OnHand qty: 100
Detail : Job #1 (qty used) 25
Detail : Job #2 (qty used) 15
Group Footer: Balance: 60

what I would like to do is suppress the group if the balance is greater than 0.00. By using the Section Expert I can only suppress GF not the whole group. Any help will be appreciated.

fyi: I am using CR 8.5

How did you create the balance? Please show the content of the formula.

Three step process

GH: initialized balance:={onhand}
Detail: balance:=balance-{qty used}
FG: Print balance

Use a different formula for suppression:

{qtyonhand}-sum(qtyused,groupfield)

-LB

The thing I don't understand is since balance is calculated field and the result is coming in GF how would that suppress the GH.

The formula I suggested will have the same value anywhere in the group as long as qtyonhand is a constant for the group, whereas your formula was based on a sequential calculation.

-LB

Do you want to suppress the GH, or the entire group?

Why suppress it instead of elimination it from the report entirely with a group selection formula?
