How to sum up resource hours on a summary task?

Is it possible to have MS Project 2000 sum up all resource hours allocated to the sub-tasks on the summary task? Right now I have to manually calculate the total hours for a summary task and it's very time consuming.

Tools | Options | Calculation-tab and select automatic calculation mode.

The default for me is to auto calculate but it doens't same to be adding up the resources hours. Is there anything else I need to check in my MS Project set-up?
