How to sum duplicates in a table?

Hello,
I have a table with duplicate part numbers and I want to get a sum of the duplicates? Would a crosstab query be appropriate? If so, how do I go about it?

select part,sum(quantity),count(part) from partsdatabase group by part having count(part) > 1
