Hi,
I'm a new user of this forum, I have the following problem:
I'm trying to store the phonebook of a 4425 IP telephone using a FTP server with the following structure:
\home\user\ (where user in my case is Ericsson)
I have created a local user Ericsson with psw Ericsson, but when the telephone start the FTP session everythings goes well until it try to send the extention-number.txt file. The transfer fail because it is trying to write at \ level instead of \home\ericsson\.
Are any way to define in the d4-config.txt file the full path??.

Thanks for your help.

Do not think so, but it should not be a problem to map the login Ericsson to have /home/ericsson. At least it you not use microsoft FTP server.

Dear Fidde,
I'm using IIS on windows2000 file-server, the FTP server is structured in a way that every user own it's personal FTP area:
/home/user/

When the 4425 telephone start the phonebook store operation do the following:

#Software: Microsoft Internet Information Services 6.0
#Version: 1.0
#Date: 2006-06-22 12:53:34
#Fields: time c-ip cs-method cs-uri-stem sc-status sc-win32-status
12:53:34 192.168.15.32 [33]USER Ericsson 331 0
12:53:34 192.168.15.32 [33]PASS - 230 0
12:53:34 192.168.15.32 [33]CWD / 250 0
12:53:34 192.168.15.32 [33]sent /2315.txt 226 0
12:53:34 192.168.15.32 [33]QUIT - 226 0

The send operation fail because the previous command was " CWD /" and the user Ericsson as full controll only in it's personal area.
I think that only two solution can be found:
1) set up the 4225 telephone in order to avoid it to send the command " CWD /"
2)set up the 4225 telephone whit the full path "/home/ericsson" in a way that the previous command "CWD /" be changed in "CWD /home/ericsson".

You know how to do??

Thanks Roberto

Hi

This is issued from Alex; Have you follow theses rules?
According to Ericsson, the central FTP storage should be on the same Server as the software server.
"
When using Windows® IIS as the FTP server, right-click on My Computer , select Manage to get to Computer Management . First the user identity and password has to be created:

Expand Local Users and Groups
Right-click on Users and add a new user. Enter Ericsson as user and password
Disable user must change password at next log on . Enable password never expires .
Click on Create and the close
Then the directories have to be created:

Expand Services and Applications
Expand Internet Information Services
Create the directory where the Contacts files shall be stored, call the directory Ericsson
Select Default FTP site
Right-click and select New
Select Virtual Directory . Enter Ericsson to point to the physical directory to use. Enable read and write as access permission
"

For My part, I use 3CDaemon and it is working fine.
Using Fastream is also Ok.
No need to change the IPhone SW

Hi Fouesnant,
thanks for your help, I had already created in our Windows server, the FTP site with the structure you mentioned but the problem still existe.
When the telephone start the FTP session as user Ericsson, it is connected to the defined virtual directory ( Ericsson) but at the following command
CD /
the current directory became (\initpub\ftproot) and the phonebook is saved there instead that in a virtual directory Ericsson.
I cannot use different FTP programm like Fastream because IIS is used by other people.
Any new suggestion?
Thanks Roberto.

Hi

I have taken some time to build up a IIS on Windows 2003 SP1.
I do follow the requirement from Ericsson as I have copy previously.
The lonely thing that is not indicated is that I provide full control on the directory for storing the phonebook.
And it is working; the files are copied in the specified directory

08:26:49 172.18.1.41 [32]USER Ericsson 331 0
08:26:49 172.18.1.41 [32]PASS - 230 0
08:26:49 172.18.1.41 [32]CWD ./ 250 0
08:26:49 172.18.1.41 [32]created /Ericsson/4013.txt 226 0
08:26:49 172.18.1.41 [32]QUIT - 226 0

172.18.1.41 is the Ip adress of the phone and 4013 is it phone number.

Hi Fouesnant,
I finally find the solution!.
As a last chance I loaded the last version of 4225 software & application (R5E, I was running the R4F)then everything works fine.
Here is the log from our ftp server:
10:11:58 192.168.7.167 [81]USER Ericsson 331
10:11:58 192.168.7.167 [81]PASS - 230
10:11:58 192.168.7.167 [81]created 2031.txt 226
10:11:58 192.168.7.167 [81]QUIT - 226

13:12:16 192.168.7.167 [86]USER Ericsson 331
13:12:16 192.168.7.167 [86]PASS - 230
13:12:16 192.168.7.167 [86]sent /Ericsson/2031.txt 226
13:12:16 192.168.7.167 [86]sent /Ericsson/2031.txt 226
13:12:16 192.168.7.167 [86]QUIT - 226

Thanks again for your help.
Roberto.

Hi Roberto

Great!
The question about which SW revision used by your IPphone would have been the last issue I would had in mind.

Have a nice WE
