how to stop subsystem in aix 5L

Hi

How to stop inoperatable subsystem in AIX 5L.
When I am trying to stop that susbsytem using
stopsrc it shows error message like 'the susbsystem
is inoperatable.
Any help will be greatly appreciable.

Andy,

What sub-system are you trying to stop? Also, can you check if the system resource controller is active.

ps -ef | grep src

stopsrc -s < subsystem name>
of course if its inoperable , why bother ?

I would guess you probably have an issue with a subsystem not starting up due to a non-standard upgrade, that's why a stop command gives you the information message. Been there...

There is a command to fix it, it will take a bit of &quot;surfing&quot; on the net, just do a search.
