how to stop flash autoplay?

flash animations are very very annoying
how to stop flash autoplay?

In IE Tools, Manage Add-ins, go to Add-ins that run without permission, Select the Flash addin (Publisher is Macromedia) and disable it.

i can't find the path u said

in Tools I have Content - Publishers
and there are only 3 in a list
Microsoft
Yahoo
Macromedia

do i need to remove whole Macromedia ?

Disable, not remove.
Tools, Manage Add-ons, Enable or Disable Add-ons
The grey box at the top is a scroll box.
Choose Add-ons that are loaded with Internet Explorer
Look for Macromedia as Publisher, Flash Object as the Add-on.

The disable it.

My apologies. But I am not imagining things.

I have XP SP2 with IE 6 SP1 and the option is there.
If you have not applied SP1 to IE you really should for security reasons.

IE 6 SP1 is avaiable for all versions of Windows except Win95.
