Hi

Option 11 rls 4

Can someone tell me how to turn off debugging on the pabx i searched and found this
in LD17, x unwanted settings from USER, eg, XBUG, XMTC, just leave SCH. You can do this on the tty your logged in on without having to disable 1st.

Could someone please tell me how to do this

Thanks, Trevor.

You determine in ld 17 what your TTY can do, remove bug and you won't get them.

ADAN TTY 6
CTYP XSDI
GRP 0
DNUM 6
DES SV_SCH_BUG
FLOW YES
BCST NO
USER MTC BUG <----------xbug to remove from tty
XSM NO
TTYLOG 0
BANR NO

i forgot to add that you should always look at your history and work on bug codes, they are usually there for a reason.

here's another view.. never turn off bugs or any other codes. fix them.. they are not there to ignore.. if you have a maint contract, have them clear all errors bugs sch etc... if you don't you will get free ini's and them complain that the switch is stupid.. in most cases it wasn't the switch

BUG messages are generated by software; for illustration only, eg - a set goes on hook that was established, but before the software sets that bit to onhook, the programmer makes the software check that bit to ensure it is not onhook already. If the bit shows eg the set is idle - which is not correct, the programmers always are checking data in their procs & will add code to fix errors & output a BUG message showing the TNs involved & the procedure location along with some data from the unprotected data stack. A large number of BUG msgs could result in the machine, slowing down & causing response or software watch dog timeouts - both resulting in INIs which John mentioned -which reset software data & keep the machine going. Bottom line - get them fixed, by patches, or compatible hardware etc.

Hi guys your comments are noted, the problem is the bug messages are constantly on the screen making it next to impossible to do any work on pabx, i posted this back on march 5th thread798-1341199. What i have come to believe is the memory where the pabx stores the error codes and logs is damaged. When i try and look up an error i get this message unable to open message file for language 0

c:/p/data/errlang0.msg

B-Tree initialization Failed

We have been waiting for our vendor to come and fix this issue but by turning the bug messages off it makes working on the pabx a lot easier.

Thanks everyone tek-tips is the best!

Have you INI the system since this started?

May not fix the BUGs but it may slow them down a bit if you do an INI, until Vendor can fix them.

Im kinda worried about doing that as it is still functioning properly. Also never done an ini before, after doing a search i assume an ini is like rebooting a pc?

Is there a harddrive in an option 11?

There are so many things i am not sure of, and we just did a bunch of hardware changes, added signal server, callpilot, contact centre manager.

i am very new to this stuff but i think there was some probs with the change from meridian mail to call pilot. Also our callpilot hdd is being replaced on friday. I think i will just leave it be until vendor comes and fixes.

Thanks acewarlock

Trevor

There is no HDD in the option 11 like you are replacing in Call Pilot. The data is stored on a circuit card.
