There are many ways to spam your site to the front of the SEs and they will all get your site banned just as quickly.

Google have just finished a major update (2 months) with a lot of new algos inplace to weed out the spammy sites.
The SEs are not interested in your commercial requirements but are concentrating on getting rid of the crap that has been slowly clogging up the SERPs over the years. Your best chance are well optimised pages, with GOOD relevant content and good inbound links. Forget the spammy tactics it will only bring problems, concentrate on making a good site for your visitors THEY are more important than the SEs. The SEs don't buy your product.

Hi Chris, I really did not want to spam my website. I was told by some guy trying to sell $995/yr to get my website on the top 10 on google, yahoo, aol, and other search engines. I just wanted to know how I can get my website up to the first 3 pages.

so what does this have to do with spamming?
u might as well then contact Google and pay them....or look into Robots and meta tags...after some time your site will be picked up!
all the best!

Hi
Maybe that was a bit [soapbox]
spent a couple of hours today with someone explaining why 45 domain names pointing to 5 mirror sites is NOT a good idea. (he won't be a client LOL)

but my points on how to do it properly hold true. There is a SEO forum forum828 post your site and questions in there for even more help and then we don't clutter up the forums.

JFI there are many ways to get your site high in the SERPs for your keyphrases by using what are considered 'spam' tactics by the SEs and SEOs. keyword meta tags are now useless because of the abuse, keyword stuffing image alt tags was also a popular method, plus many many more.
Not all spam comes in tins (or email)

Don't pay money yet to anyone who says they can get you a top 10 listing in the Google SERPs.
For now visit this is a specialist forum for the SEs and read up on the advice given in the posts and articles before parting with money. There is nothing about SEO that you can't do yourself if you have a bit of time, do some research and have some determination,
If you really want to spend money then use a PPC program to get some listings but if you're not in a highly competitive market some good optimisation and some good links will get you good results. I just got a client to 3rd rank on Google for the keyphrase in 10 weeks from site launch. It just takes a bit of common sense.

I'd post my email and offer some advice away from the forum but David might take it as adertising.
