I'm looking for a way to sort the list output of files spread from different directories.
"ls -ltR" can give me only sorted files under the same directory

Thanks to any help

This may not work for a very large number of files, but try:

[tt]ls -lt `find /dir1 /dir2 -type f`[/tt] Annihilannic.
