How to show the time Zone in Report?

Hi ,

I'm using SQL Server 2000/Crystal reports 9.
I need to show the time zone in the report. Could anybody please suggest me how to get the time zone like Central,eastern,etc.

hello jpdmdc,

i don't have version 9, but in xi, there are special fields called "data time zone" and "current ce user time zone".

i think they come from the date and time dialog box in the control panel in windows.

If you only have a date then you can't get the timezone unless there is another field with it on the database table. The only other way is to do a lookup to another database.

Or another way is to have a string datatype with the ISO version of date time. That version of date time contains the timezone. You can then do parsing and casting on it but it's really a bad idea to do it this way.
