Can someone explain step for step how to setup voicemail for users. Does this it forward to their voicemail after so many rings?

Also can vocemail be setup on an extension that has been added to several sets as a multiple ext?

Thanks in adance.

With all respect in tended, I don't think you will get many to answer this question. Your question is basically asking for a technician/engineer to provide free support.

I would suggest you start at the manual and if you have issues with specific portions of the setup, you return to the group and ask those question. I think it is only at that time that you will find the group will help you.

Thanks for the response.

I have tried the manual, but have not gotten far with it. It simply states that the user should dial the voicemail extension and follow the promts. Several users have done so. Yet it does not forward after a specific amount of rings.

I am not too familiar with telephone systems, i was just able to login to the system and started tinkering with it enough to understand some of it.

I have learned enough to do simple adds/moves and other small changes.

Is ther any other places that i can read up on?

Otherwise I have no problem paying a third party for support as it will cut down time. I just found that our recent mitel tech was making us run around in circles, which why i decided to take a peek and learned how to do most of the simple stuff.

Any advise is greatly apreaciated.
Thanks

I am going to be specifically vague with my response. So if you find that what I wrote doesn't make too much sense, then you really need to either have your Mitel vendor do the work, or have your Mitel vendor sponsor you to take an appropriate Mitel course. You can also request that your Mitel vendor supply you with the system documentation, maybe that will help.

Call forwarding to voicemail is not a function of the voicemail system. The voicemail is at the end of the line, not the begining. So, with that in mind, it is the phone/phone system that controls when a call is forwarded to ANYWHERE. There is a call forward timer in the class of service of the phone, approx 4 seconds per ring cycle. Then you have to program a destination. There can be a system default destination assigned to phones done with Tenanting OR each phone can do call forwarding with either Feature Access Codes or with the Superkey on digital sets.

Do you have a phone that is working the way you want? If so, then copy it's programming parameters to other phones.

Also, if the Multicall ext is not a prime appearance on a physical or virtual circuit, then integration to a specific mailbox will not be possible.

As TheMitelGuy said, we are not here to program your system or to train you on Mitel. Lots of smart, experienced techs here that don't mind helping with very pointed questions provided that you can make use of the answers given.

Slight correction.

The call forward timer in the COS on the SX-200 is not in seconds, but it is in rings.

Thanks paterson. i can work with what you've told me.

I'll take a look around COS form to see if i can find that option.

As for the multicall i added the ext to several phones and made it prime on one phone just to test it out. Will they all be able to check that vm and/or get notifications?
