Greetings,

Can someone help? I'm turning in circles trying to figure out how to setup a delayed auto attendant.

I think I've got thing setup ok on the VM side, becuase I can call the VM Ports and hit my recording and my menu works.

I'm having trouble configuring things on the Magix side.

Here is what I've got

WinSPM v9
Magix Release 4.0 v7.0 Mode: Hybrid/PBX
Merlin Messaging R4
Calling Group 770 covering Group 30 (extensions with voicemail)
Calling Group 780 covering Group 29 (extensions without voicemail)

What I want to have happen is for a caller to call into the system and hit the automated attendant after two rings. If the caller doesn't know their parties extension then they are prompted to dial 3 which rings Calling Group 780 (extenstions that don't have voicemail)

I setup a phantom Calling Group 771 and setup 770 as overflow, problem was, after two rings the VM picked and annouced "Transferring to Operator". I don't want that I want the AA to play. (I then went through and reset those changes)

Additonally...I my head hurts and I'm running out of graph paper...

See below and thanks!

Thanks

Ok - Before I go off and really screw things up.

Step One - Setup 771 as an Automated Attendant in Messaging

After that I'm not sure. Would you give me a little more.

It works! Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you!!!

Occasionally I have more enthusiam then brains and took your advice and tweaked a couple of settings. Those changes appear to have worked and I will now run the system through its paces and look for unintended results.

You mind double checking my changes just to make sure I don't blow something up.

(BTW-I'm an end user in a rural setting with an Avaya provider that does not provide good support. So I've had to go solo and educate myself by reading manuals. We've grown our system from a Partner II to Magix with DID.)

I would change the 770 to a Circular and not a LINEAR group.

The rationale for using Linear Hunt on voice mail is to keep the last ports as idle as possible for lighting MW lights and Outcalling.
