I want to setup a ftp server on solaris
Can anyone tell me what should i do first cause
i am new to solaris

Thanks

AFAIK, the FTP server comes 'out of the box' with Solaris. Does ftp to your server not work at all, or are you after configuration information (eg. anonymous FTP etc.) ??? TandA

One by one, the penguins steal my sanity.

Solaris is by default a FTP server. The only thing u need to check is the user id for which u want to give permission to ftp. make it sure that the userid for ftp should not be included in the /etc/ftpusers file. Any id in this file will not hv ftp permission.

cheers

Hi,

The default FTP server had some vulnerability several months ago. I don't know what's the new patch for it.

Why don't you try WuFTP or NcFTP. They have good documents.
Personally, I like NcFTP. But you have to pay a little bit. WuFTP sounds more popular. Hope it's free.

Regards,
Jerry.
