I have an OLD OLD Merlin Magix using a 4424LD console.

If people dial the main number 555-7979, there is an auto-attendant immediately

If people dial 0, it forwards to ext 7900 (which then hits other phones that have cover x7900)

I would like to have it go to voicemail if the no one answers after 6 rings.

How can I set this up? I do not have any boxes set up for 7979 or 7900.

(PS. how can I tell what voicemail group number the programmer used when installing the system)

You will need a mailbox for 7900.

To determine what Group the Programmer used for Voice mail just put the extension in programming mode (Speaker, Pound Zero Zero) and touch the button that's programmed for Voice Mail.

PPS, the MAGIX is not old.

Please excuse my ignorance.

x7900 is the main phone (4424LD). When I am in the programming mode and push [check vm] it says "group call 770".

I tried to do the generic voicemail set up with group cover 30 for x7900 but when I go to check the voicemail it says invalid entry.

Please help!!! Thanks in advance.

Mr.Merlin Man, How do I build a mailbox for 7900 within the voicemail itself?
