Hi y'all,

I've been using Panasonic TES824 for years and everything works fine until few weeks ago when there was a sudden power outage and the battery for the TES824 failed, I had to fix it and turned off the TES824 main unit. Afterwards I found out that the delayed ring for incoming calls at CO1 is no longer working for extension no. 17 (screenshot included with this post at the link below).

Anyone know how to fix this through the KX-TE Maintenance Console?

Also, I've been using the same KX-TE Maintenance Console software since the first installment, is there any newer version released? Or new firmware availabel for the TES824 main unit?

Thanks for the help, appreciate it.

Do you intend to make CO1 ring after a pre-defined duration or immediate?.

I see others are immediate.

The latest Maintenance console Ver is 3.001
And latest firmware Ver i know is 3.1.1

we cant see extension number just jack number is it extension 17 or jack 17 as they can be different
other than that it is the correct way to do it

@Otoni: I wish to make the CO1 ring at pre-defined duration like shown in the screenshot, but just for the Jack no. 17, while for other Jacks I've set it for immediate ring.

Do you know what's wrong? As of now, that Jack no. 17 phone unit doesn't ring at all even if an incoming call at CO1 rang for more than 10 seconds (as pre-defined in the KX-TE Maintenance Console).

About the latest firmware and software update, do you know where I can get / download them?

@obtsystems: Sorry for the confusion, I meant Jack no. 17, not extension no. 17.

Can you assign Extension at Jack 17 another port and see if it works.

Perhaps the power surge could have had negative effect on that port.

Or save config back-up and reset the system then upload back the original config.

As for the Firmware, it depends on your location. It is recommended you obtain it from your unit dealer.

Google could let you obtain one as well with a good search.

It is against distributing on this site i suppose.

@Otoni:

I did what you said there, I changed the Jack no. 17 to other Jacks (no. 20) which is working properly, but afterwards I tried paging it but it kept silent.

Here's what I've tried (let's say the original extension at Jack no. 17 is called Kitchen, and the extension at Jack no. 20 is called Front Office):
I plugged off the Kitchen extension-jack from Jack no. 17, and plugged it into Jack no. 20, and vice versa. So I called Kitchen extension, but there was no ring at the Front Office phone-unit extension although I heard the calling tone like usual on the phone I'm using to ring it.
And when I picked-up the Kitchen phone unit, which was now plugged-in at Jack no. 20 and became Front Unit extension, there's no tone-dial sound at all.

What do you think?

You did not do the right thing.

What i meant was, let's say Jack 17 is Ext 107. Assign Ext 107 to another Jack

Example:
If Jack17 is Ext107 and Jack 19 is Ext109 (Free jack)
Assign Jack 17 to Jack19 and switch Jack19 to Jack17.

Plugging out from one jack and into the other does not do it.
It is achieved through programming.

The end result should be something like kitchen is plugged in jack 19 and when you call its current extension number it should still ring as Kitchen

Hope its clearer

@Otoni:
Ok, I get the Jack/Ext exchange. But how to test it then?

When you say using free jack (Jack 19), is free mean it's not programmed yet (completely free, unused jack)? Or another jack used for other extension (programmed)? If what you mean is the first, how do I test if the delayed ring setting is working properly since Jack 19 (now being used by Ext 107) is a completely free jack? Do I need to change the Jack 19 settings in the KX-TE Maintenance Console page (duplicated from Jack 17 settings)?

I know I asked a lot of question there, because I'm not used to changing the settings in the KX-TE Maintenance Console pages, affraid I'll just going to messed it up.

Thanks for your patience for guiding me through this.

@Otoni:
I've tried it out yesterday, I plugged in the Ext 17 into an empty/free Jack at no. 22 and then programmed it to have the same delayed ring setting like Jack no. 17, but apparently it also didn't ring.

But the strange thing was when I change the setting to "immediate" ring, it rang. It only becomes a problem when it is changed into "delayed" ring, perhaps there are other settings I should be aware of that hinder this "delayed" ring to work properly?
