We had the ability to set custom page magnifications in linking bookmarks with 5.0 but don't seem to have that ability with 6.0. Help document says "... select the destination page...and, set the page magnification. Click OK", but you can't magnify with the plus cursor like you could in 5.0.

So how do you link to a portion of a page in 6.0

Essentially, you need to create destinations first. Then use the Custom Link option on the link dialogue box to add a Go to page in this document, Use a named destination link. It is more time-consuming, yes. However, I think the idea behind it is that it will create something that's more stable and also something that can be changed more easily. If you have a number of links and buttons and bookmarks that go to the same destination, then you only need to change the destination and all the bookmarks, links and buttons that go to that destination will be updated.

I think, overall, Acrobat 6 makes our work a little bit more time-consuming. Although there are a number of features that save time, the loss of the Go to view functionality and consequent necessity to create a whole host of destinations before you can set the links, doesn't quite balance out the added speed provided by other features (such as, the ability to copy and paste links and to change the properties of a number of links at once).
