When the phone is loading up the screen will display "Press * to program".
After pressing *(star) you can then set the phones IP addresses etc. To skip through the options to the VLAN ID keep pressing the # key until you see 802.1q, make sure this is either set to "On" or "Auto" and press # again to see the VLAN ID screen. Make the necessary change and continue to press # until the changes are saved.
If it's done via DHCP, you need to add the string to the 176 or 242 option (depending on model of phone).
If it's statically addressed, hit MUTE and dial R-E-S-E-T (73738) and hit #. You want to reset the settings and reboot the phone. Then on boot up hit * to program when prompted and enter the IP settings. One of the options is to adjust the VLAN Flag...
