How to seperate a text box from it's label 1

When you create a text box and use the label it comes with they move in tandem. I would like to know if there is a way to disconnect the two. I know one option is to create them seperatley butI have a number of applications where they were created together and would like to seperate them for easier alignment.
Is this possible?

Yes, when you hover over the top left corner of the label, the mouse cursor will change to a finger. You can then drag the label to wherever you want and the text box will stay put.

You can select the label and then press Ctrl+Z to cut the label. Then click in the background of the section you want to paste into and press Ctrl+V. This also works if you select multiple label controls. They will all be "moved" to the clipboard so you can paste them back into your form/report.

just a minor correction. Ctrl-Z performs an "Undo" function. The correct function is Ctrl-X, which removes the item from the 'document' to the clipboard for pasting later (or can be forgotten and ends up in a delete).

Pleasehelpalot, these are functions that can be used in nearly all (can't think of an exception at the moment) Windows applications (Word, Excel, email, etc) and have mirroring keyboard shortcuts in the Mac environment.

Ctrl-Z = Undo
Ctrl-X = Cut
Ctrl-C = Copy
Ctrl-V = Paste

Just a (very) few shortcuts you may find helpful.

If you are working in a Columnar style form, you can select both label and control (or many of them if you wish - click and drag to select or hold down the shift key) and right click one of them, then select Layout, and click on Remove. You have other options to put them in a stacked layout or tabular layout.
