How to send sound card out through phone line?

Hi,
I have a D-link voice modem and a creative live sound card. I want the modem to send the out-put of the sound card through the line when taking a call. Can I connect the line-out of the sound card to the mic-in of the modem or is there some other way to get the job done. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Don't connect a line signal from your sound card to a mic input. That won't work -or be distorted at the most. I'm sure it can be handled using a software solution. Don't know which one, tough...
