Hi all,

I have a stupid problem. We have an old server (a 386) with Netware 3.12, its old network card is dead, and we cannot find a replacement one.

Now I have necessity to recover a few important files (not system files, only some data from an application directory) but I don't have a clue on how to do it from the console, if possible.

Any hint?

Are these large files? Will these files even fit onto a Floppy Disk? Because that's about all you would be able to copy them to anyways.

Regarding replacement of the NIC... what kind of hardware are you usiing that you can't find a replacement NIC for it? Does the Server have any ISA slots available? You could use an older 3Com or other NIC.

Good Luck.

Try 'toolbox.nlm' from novell.com.

This should give you access to files on the server.

The prob is that it's hard to find an old 3Com here, and if I find a way to recover these files, the next day the server (an old 386 with 8 Mb RAM, an EGA card and 1.2Gb Hard Disk) will be "cannibalized"

I'll give a try for the toolbox tomorrow

Thx both :) -----
