I have a setting within 1 of my GPO's for desktop redirection that is still taking affect with the GPO is disabled.
I want to confirm none of the other GPO's contains this setting and would like to know it there is a way to search all the GPO's for this setting.
Easiest way to do this would be to either export them then search the text or go into Group Policy Management.
Go into the domain - the Group Policy objects then click on the first one - then click on the "Settings" tab and find where the Setting should / shouldn't be.
another idea might be to run RSOP.msc - this will show you the settings currently in effect and what GPO the settings are coming from - quiet useful if you have settings coming from different GPO's, especially if some of them conflict each other. Or if you have GPMC installed then run the GPMC reporting wizard - it'll give you even more details
I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that folder redirection is not stored in a policy key in the registry, therefore when you remove it from the policy - the setting will still apply to your profile because it's still stored under HKCU in the registry.
Gmail 2 is most likely correct. When you create the group policy fro folder redirection there is the option for setting what will happen when the Group Policy is removed or disabled. There is an option to redirect the user BACK to his/her local PC, OR to RETAIN the current location that the Group Policy points to. To find out, navigate to the group policy that has/had redirection set, right click, hit settings, see what the options are for Policy Removal
