Can someone tell me what steps I need to do in order to search for a phone number in OTM?

one of your numbers or an outside number?

It's one of our numbers in switch ,but we want to see what number called it from inhouse or possibly transferred. Thanks

Ahhh, OK - It's a bit tricky if you don't already have certain things in place but here:
Assuming you already have CDR turned on (I'm afraid I can't adequately explain how to do it as mine was already turned on when I got here - but someone surely can if you need it)

go to
OTM Navigator/Sites/your site/System Window
then expand your site node/Telemanagement in the system window and double-click
Telecom billing System
You will see buttons for Collection, Costing and reports
You must Collect data and then cost data before you can run a report on that data.

To run a report click the Reporting button
Expand the reports node and select a category and a report
on the right side (I would use Cost Analysis/Extension Detail Report for the report you want), select an output format (Screen for a quickie report and to test your settings)
Select a filter or click the [...] button to edit/add a filter
give the filter a name if new
and then start picking criteria from the tabs below
IF a tab doesn't interest you (You don't need it for the report you are doing) uncheck the Activate box
On the Extension/Trunk tab you must enter both originating and terminating extensions, even if they are the same one - IF I want to run a report for DN 5002 only I would enter it on both sides. Also, you must put orig on one line and term on the next like so:

CLick OKs to get back to the Reporting window and click the GO button. If you selected screen as your output, it should show up shortly (Will take a little while to run depending how far back you went). You may have to play with the filter tabs to get what you want. Limit by date to save time.

If you get stuck, just ask back here.

Cheers!

How do change the date of the call I'm searching for Johnthephone guy?

Yeah, you can enter an actual date or a relative date - I thinkyou must enter dates as mm/dd/yyyy but check the help button to make sure. you can also use relative dates:
from.................to
0/-1/0 ...............0/0/0

will get you calls from minus one day ago to today (Bascially 24 hours from when you ran the report)
I have reports I run weekly and daily automatically and they email different department heads. I never touch the thing except to occasionally change which extensions get included in the report.

When you are in Staition Data make sure you have your sort option set to DN then you should be able to just type in the DN to find. Uless you are 3.0 or later then you would hit the drop down for search options and choose Prime DN then put in the number.

Thanks everyone for the information it has been very helpful

Wow that was so well explained that even I understood it!

And a star for the screen shot. That single spot is the most confusing part of the report.

No the liquid coming out of your phone is NOT dialtone!
