How to search entire DB for 16 digit string

hi, does anyone know how to search en entire db for 16 digit number strings? need an audit system to ensure that credit cards aren't being recorded in a db.

How good are you with VBA? You could write a Function that spins through all tables (or a subset that you define), then spin through all fields that could contain the pattern (can skip Boolean, Dates, etc.). I assume you may need to search for xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx as well as xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx as well as xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx or maybe even more variations?

When all else fails, manipulate the data.

Regarding this specifically, have a look at the Replace() function to eliminate spaces and hyphens in your search criteria.
