Hi,
i would like my spool not to be visible when using WRKSPLF command. (i don't want it to be deleted by a user)
Perhaps have i to save it ..?
How ?
Thanks for your help !

francoisf,

The only way I know of to save a spooled file is to copy it to a physical file. Use the CPYSPLF command and be sure to add the CTRCHAR(*PRTCTL) parm. To restore the spooled file you will need to write a HLL program to read the physical file and process the *PRTCTL data.

If you just want to hide it, take away the user's permission to your outq.

What do you mean arrow483 ?
What have i to do exactly ?
Can you tell me about the command i have to use ?
Thanks !

EDTOBJAUT mylib/myoutq OBJTYPE(*OUTQ)

Then change *PUBLIC to *EXCLUDE

They may still see the print file listed in WRKSPLF, but they won't be able to read/open/delete/change it.

You will want to make sure your JOBD sends your spool files to your own personal outq.
